I’m an avid listener and user advocate, and I’m driven to put people at the center of product and service design. I strive to help teams and organizations better understand and build empathy with the people they design for. Along the way, I identify actionable opportunities for growth and innovation.

I conduct end-to-end research on products and services at all levels of fidelity, from 0→1 builds to established products and features.

My expertise

  • Exploring broad, ambiguous topics to understand current-state realities, pain points, needs, and opportunities using in-depth interviews. This early-stage research informs strategic direction and initial design explorations.

  • Testing early-stage or low-fidelity designs to understand whether design explorations are headed in the right direction.

  • Assessing the usability of high-fidelity designs and preparing products for commercial readiness.

  • Research that captures “day in the life” perspectives from participants to better understand lived realities, spontaneous moments, and unfiltered reactions.

  • While most research captures feedback at a single point in time, longitudinal research follows participants over extended periods (often weeks or months, but could span up to a year) to understand longer-term usage patterns or changes in behavior.

Methodologies:

  • Life-like archetypes of target users that are based on research and in-depth understanding. Personas help build shared understanding of target users and are valuable design tools.

  • Mapping the experiences of target user groups to identify current-state actions, pain points, emotional states, and opportunities.

  • Empowering stakeholders to understand and take action on key insights through design thinking activities, workshops, and immersive deliverables.

  • I have years of experience defining research protocols and recruiting criteria, writing screening questionnaires, and managing research samples.

  • I have experience using a number of purpose-built research and collaboration tools, including dscout, UserTesting, Figma and Figjam, Mural, and Miro.
